Spring Zara Haul

Let me just start by saying I am fully aware that I have a problem. I am addicted to Zara Kids.
I've purchased lots recently for Matilda's wardrobe and also for the new baby, thinking that once I am on maternity leave and receiving the terrible statutory pay, I won't be able to treat my girls (so weird writing that!) as much as I would like.

Zara is killing it for me with their girls collection for spring/summer so I wanted to share the bits I've picked up in the last few weeks.

First up is this gorgeous embroidered striped blouse. Embroidery is huge for spring/summer and I like Matilda to be stylish, which may sound ridiculous to some but as I've said before I love fashion - even though my threads leave a lot to be desired! Part of being a mother is giving everything to the kids and I want my kids to look their best.
The jeans! All the heart eyes for these mom-style ups which also feature cute embroidery. Unfortunately as I type they aren't online but try your local Zara to see if you can find them.
These raffia-esque skater shoes are the perfect Spring shoe, ideal for the transitional weather when boots are too much but a sandal isn't enough. They will go with everything too!

I love these items together but the beauty of a denim shirt is that it can go with everything, great if your'e trying to create a capsule wardrobe. This particular shirt is really lightweight, so is perfect for this time of year and is still available here in most sizes.
The leggings caught my eye because of the cute print, but it is really bothering me that in this photo it looks like one leg is longer than the other! Zara do these with a few different prints on, and are a bargain at £8.99, you can find them here.

Ok more grey from me with these jeans, a total steal at £9.99 and they come in 5 different colours. Again, I find they go with so much because of the pale tone and look cute turned up.
The picture doesn't show the glitter on the jumper but that is probably what drew me to it as I love anything sparkly and I really liked it with these jeans. It comes in other colours and is still available in all sizes online.

This striped shirt isn't online but it's a recent purchase so could be picked up in store. I love blue, stripes and embroidery as well as grey if you couldn't already tell. Another shirt that is perfect for Spring, I love the casual vibe with these jeans and Converse.

Zara's mid-season sale has started today so of course I am eyeing up more items to buy! I've also been stocking up on newborn bits for baby number 2, so I will bring those to you in a separate post!

Where We Roam

Hello everyone.

Some of my favourite posts or instagram photos are those of exploring and adventure so I wanted to share some of our most recent outings. They're nothing fancy or expensive.
Since writing my mum-guilt post, I've stopped beating myself up about the days spent indoors doing mundane jobs, not in an expensive soft play centre or at the zoo (I still like to do this from time to time, but when we don't, just spending time as a family is perfectly fine). I try to make sure Matilda gets fresh air everyday we are together, whether that be half hour on the swings and slide or two hours exploring a country park, it is important to me that she isn't within four walls all day.

The Beach

We are lucky enough to be a two minute drive from The Leas, our local Blue Flag beach. I love walking the length of the promenade, taking in the fresh sea air, the pretty beach huts and skimming stones. Matilda loves to collect as many pebbles as possible, naming their colours as she goes. We spend so much time here in the summer as it is completely free, there is a sweetie hut at one end and then further along a little cafe with chips and ice creams. Now that the days are getting longer and brighter, we've been going more frequently and I can't wait to take the new baby here for walks once she arrives.

Leybourne Lakes Country Park

We went here for the first time a few weeks ago. My husband works minutes from the park and had suggested we head there to explore. The website was useful in telling us which walk would be appropriate for buggy users, so we did the circular route. We were met with some extremely friendly geese when we arrived!

We really liked it here, long walks with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. Matilda walked for parts of it, but the circular route is pretty long so she got tired quite quickly.

I've realised I need better outdoor wear! But, having a backpack for days out like this is so much easier. This giraffe print one is an old one from Topshop that I've had for years but it is so useful, I'm looking to get a backpack style changing bag for when our second daughter arrives in May.

We will definitely be back here again soon.

The Barnyard

This is where we were married in June 2014! We loved it for its rural setting and barn animals, however, the animals have now sadly gone! Matilda and I managed to get here a few weeks ago before the ponies, pigs and horses were moved to their new homes.

I feel really sad about the animals going, they were a big part of the venue and why we liked it so much. The woodland walks will still be available for people to enjoy, but I feel without the animals, we won't be going back in a hurry! Lucky that they do a great afternoon tea ;-)

I'd love to hear of any parks or walks in the Kent area that you enjoy so please share in the comments below!

Thanks for reading.
